Pre Press Operator or Intermediate Designer Graphic Press & Packaging are a long standing well respected New Zealand owned family business specialising in the printing, communications and promotion for a wide range of businesses in sectors from Food manufacture, Beauty, Corporate and general businesses right through to your local dairy. We are seeking a candidate who can join our team preferably as a Pre Press operator but can be an Intermediate Designer that we will train. What we need from you is experience in

• Preparing files supplied from customers for offset and digital print
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat)
• Experience with Mac computers

What will set candidates apart is further experience in

• Have a knowledge of prepress production specifications (bleeds, crop marks, fonts/colours/graphics etc.)
• An understanding of the various output methods of files such as offset printing plates through a CTP device
• Experience in imposition software (preferably XMF)
• Clear communication with sales and customers
• Coordination with production to prioritise jobs to meet deadlines
• Great personal organisation and time management skills
• Design and layout skills including creation of Dielines
• Attention to detail

It is an advantage but not critical to have further skills in

• Operation of wide format or digital printers
