As a Business Support Officer - Democracy, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations for our Elected Members. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and contributing to the overall success of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with general administrative duties, including document preparation, data entry, and filing.

· Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.

· Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to enquiries and resolving issues.

· Assist in managing calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reports.

· Collaborate with various departments to support delivery of tasks and ensure timely completion.

He kōrero mōu - About you

As the ideal candidate you will be energetic, dynamic and people focused. You'll have a high level of computer literacy and attention to detail, as well as be proactive by nature and anticipate what comes next. This role would suit someone with an administrative background, and the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures, and the ability to streamline and improve processes where possible to better both staff and customer experience. Previous experience in local government would be an advantage but is not essential.

You will need to have flexibility in your working hours during the week, as you will be required at Council or committee meeting every Wednesday finishing around 8pm and a Monday night once every 6 weeks. Time in lieu will be given for any after hours work requirements. If you have any questions or want to know more about this please give us a call to chat about it.
